HTC TWO M8 rumours round up (The best smartphones 2014) |
The HTC One started a new era for HTC with an exquisite aluminum unibody, a bran-new experimental UltraPixel camera and stereo front speakers, but it’s been weeks since it launched and we are approaching the time for the new flagship - the HTC M8. The device isn't yet official, but we have been bombarded with leaks from all sides, and all seem to agree there will be one huge feature to make it stand out - the HTC M8 will attach to a twin-sensor rear camera.

SPECS & DESIGN :
The upcoming HTC Two is set to look nearly identical to the original One, if rumors are to be believed, only they will add a few key tweaks and changes for the better, and to keep up with the fast moving tech advances. The display will increase from 4.7-inch to 5, which will compete with the Galaxy S4 and S5, and potentially a new iPhone 6. The resolution would be perfectly acceptable at a beautiful 1920 x 1200, but we could even see HTC stretch into the 2k category.
HTC Two (M8) will work with Android 4.4.2 KitKat, and a brand new Sense UI 6.0 on board. The processor will be improved to a 2.3 GHz Snapdragon 800, like the Galaxy Note 3, and come with 2GB of RAM.
However, new reports suggest the Snapdragon 805. Offering a 2.5 GHz quad-core and 3GB of RAM, as well as the same 16GB of storage, and an improved 10 megapixel “UltraPixel” camera, instead of the 4 MP option in the HTC One.
Slightly larger, 1080p display:
The HTC One featured a slightly smaller display than almost of its competition in 2013. Its 4.7-inch display never seemed too small, but today, HTC is said to adopt a slightly larger display size. Rumor has it that the HTC M8 will come with 'at least' a 5-inch screen with the same 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution. Pixel peepers might complain, and point out that others like Samsung, are said to have a sharper, QHD (1440 x 2560-pixel) displays, but we'd not really count a 1080p screen as a huge downside. Almost studies confirm that the average person won't even notice the difference between a QHD and 1080p smartphones. Moreover, a larger resolutions means more pixels to push, and subsequently that actually results in a drop in performance. It's a double-edged sword.
Pricing and Availability :
The handset will be announced in Barcelona during MWC 2014. @Evleaks also touted that it will be available through all four major US cellular (AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, and Sprint) by the end of the first quarter. By mid-April, it will also hit the European and Asian shelves too.
