A few day before CES, Samsung announced the next rendition of the Galaxy Camera, the Galaxy Camera 2. The device features the same 16.3 mega-pixel sensor with OIS as the original did, except Samsung was able to slim up the body, and also speed the camera’s performance. The Galaxy Camera 2 runs Android 4.3 (All things you need to know about Android 4.4: KitKat ), as well as a revamped version of Samsung’s TouchWiz UI, which was designed specifically for this device.

While it does not seem like a product that would attract buyers, Samsung must get on to something with their Galaxy Camera devices as they're getting ready to release the Galaxy Camera 2. We got to check out the latest and newest Galaxy Camera device at CES 2014. This updated version comes with a 1.6 GHz processor; 2 GB of RAM, double the previous version; a larger, 2,000mAh battery; and Android 4.3 compared to Android 4.1 on the older model. The Galaxy Camera 2 comes with an assortment of connection options, though at this time Samsung is only committing to making a WiFi-only version available. Pricing and an expected date of availability haven't yet been announced.
