LG Lifeband Hands on - CES 2014

LG has finally entered the wearable technology segment, with the announcement of its Life Band Touch fitness wristband. The South Korean manufacturer will be showcasing the Life Band Touch fitness wristband at CES 2014. The company has yet to reveal the pricing and availability details of the LG Life Band Touch. Not ably, the last wearable from LG can sync with Android and iOS devices using Bluetooth 4.0, though the company hasn't detailed whether the device can work with smartphone, tablets or even both.

The Lifeband Touch has one open end, and flexes around your wrist, like an open-ended Nike+ FuelBand. It works with both iOS and Android, and is an accelerometer-based fitness tracker with altimeter. The Lifeband Touch lights up when you lift your hand to look at the display. The swipe-and-tap menu interface, and its icons, looks more like other fitness devices like the Withings Pulse and Fitbit Force, but the extra features it has  unique: music controls, call notifications, volume control, and call silencing. That tracker never actually reached the public after debuting at CES 2013 and we still don't have a price for this model, but LG promises this time will be different, setting a launch date for the Life band and Heart Rate Earphones in the first half of the year.
